Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, InDesign etc... in the CS4 creative suite super special extended edition, yadda yadda yadda. I had to purchase it for school, of course. And yet, with all of this hi-tech junk running around on my beautiful Mac lappy (named James), I still use Corel Painter IX that I got FOUR YEARS ago. In the technical world, my art program is nearly an elderly old man. BUT I STILL USE IT ALL THE TIME!! Why not use PSCS4? I'll tell you why.
For some inconceivable reason, PS isn't registering my tablet's pen pressure sensitivity. I have a sneaking suspicion that I need to re-install PS, but I'm too chicken to do that until I get a new mass storage device (a whole other can of worms I'll tell you about later). For secondly... where the effers is the color wheel? I know that there's a color selection bar and a swatches/style menu and you can double click the color box to get a line of perty colors and I use that sort of like the color wheel, but it's just not the same. Whose bright idea was it to not have that option?
Granted, I really like using PS for line art (I'd like it even better if I could maximize my potential for line variance), but coloring is a nightmare (especially without pressure sensitivity). Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, I don't know, but it seems like a lot more effort than it's worth when you come to the blending stage of things. It was enough of a pain that I just converted the line art back over to Corel and continued painting there. I should probably touch up the line art too, especially since the lines are fuzzy. Why? I don't really know myself. They just... are...
I don't know about you all that use PS and all that fancy pants stuff... but until I get my class on PS over with, I don't think I'm ever going to touch it again... Corel will just have to get me through, like it has these past four years.
((End Rant))
I know that this poll was on the last journal entry too, but I'll put it up again since I didn't get any response (not that I expected I would... I'm not that popular of an artist that I can have a whole band of watchers dedicated to replying to my journals). So...
If I were to open up commissions, would you shell out $5 for a picture?
-Yes
-No
-I'd pay more (How much more?)
-I'd pay less (How much less?)
-I'd do an art trade instead
-Maybe (Explain?)

My main compy crashed, and I didn't have the website address memorized (I had it on favorites). So when I lost my favorites, I lost the site (and I haven't been getting e-mails for PMs for some reason D
P.S. I dunno why Google is being mean and won't lead me to you guys >.< I've tried that, too. XD I also just now realized that I know Zay's account here. Wow... I feel stupid...
